Overview
The ship management company contracted CTS to provide riding teams to carry out the in-situ steelwork onboard one of their crude oil tankers. The vessel’s Panama chocks and bow chain stopper were in need of an upgrade. Avoidance of downtime was crucial for the vessel owners; therefore, CTS developed a plan that would allow for the vessel to continue operations while ensuring an efficient installation. CTS deployed two skilled welding and steel fitting experts to commence work onboard in Greece.
Scope of Works
• Washing & surface preparation.
• Assembly of lifting equipment to the deck.
• Installation & welding of 250T Panama chock & chain stopper.
• Non-destructive testing.

Result
The CTS team worked around the clock to renew the Panama chock and chain stopper. The scope of work was expected to take five days; however, with proper planning and a competent team, CTS was able to complete the project ahead of schedule.
