Innovative SPS Steel Replacement

After satisfying all the requirements of a demanding pre qualification procedure, CTS Offshore and Marine was engaged by Chevron to conduct a fully project managed turn key steel renew of 300m2 of deck plating on the N/C/P/S tanks of this186,092 DWT Floating Storage and Offloading (FSO) vessel.

This was a challenging project owing to the CTS was responsible for the entire operation including steel work, surface preparation of the old and new steel plates, maintenance of the cavities, injection and sourcing of the elastomer for SPS. Nonetheless, we were confident this job was within the capabilities of our experienced welders and we were proved right.
