Overview
CTS was invited by the Accommodation Vessel Owner/operator to provide one Rope Accesswelding 6G team and two teams of R/A U.H.P. blasters & painters, for renewal of braces on the PS and SBS crane boom under the supervision and instructions of the maker’s FavelleFavco. The R/A blasting and coating team was to descale the crane boom mechanically, clean chemically / U.H.P. W. Jet blasting, and then paint with 2 coats of primer and yellowtop coat. CTS provided all the R/A equipment, consumables, and equipment required for the blasting and coating teams. The team was handpicked from our pool of skilled ex-shipyard pipe and steel fitters/welders with very good knowledge and relevant certificates. Experienced Blasting/Coating teams were deployed for the project
Scope of Works
• Braces: Total renewal of 38 braces (26 on the port boom and 8 on the STBD boom)• De-scaling and painting booms with two stripe coats of primer paint and top yellow coat full paint apply on booms
• CTS along with the Client, ensured all areas of work had no presence of debris and oil.• All the passageways cleared from any obstacles for easy access.
• Hot work was minimized, and major cutting and welding were conducted only after approval from Safety inspector
• All electrical equipment checked by Client electrical and HSE department and lock out and tag out system was put into use
