Project Brief

CTS Offshore and Marine Limited was contracted by Prosafe, world’s leading owner of semi-submersible accommodation vessels to provide a turnkey solution for the supply, installation & upgrade of the HVAC system as part of the living quarter’s upgradation in the Rig Safe Concordia.

CTS objective was to deliver the project in time while providing safety and quality to the client. A group of very skilled ex-shipyard mechanical and electrical workers with excellent knowledge mobilized for the project.

Detailed analysis of existing systems and heat load calculations were done to come up with a solution consisting of upgrade and new bespoke containerized blocks to fulfil client requirement.

Scope of Work

The scope of work was divided in 4 groups:

  • New DX AC System for the containerized accommodation block,
  • Existing HVAC system upgrade in original accommodation,
  • Transformer room AC Branch Extensions and necessary Fire Dampers,
  • New Roof Top Package units for the DP Bridge.

Teams were staggered in 3 stages to ensure the preparation was in place to conclude the project in the strict docking timelines.

Results

The complex project came with its own logistical challenge as the system components coming in from all over the globe. It was safely concluded within strict timelines. Project Mechanical Superintendent together with Project Supervisor performed various inspection of the work area during and after the project to ensure that all work done as per ABS rules, regulation and under Prosafe QC satisfaction.

Clients were happy that we worked around intense work schedule and were able to use our experience to resolve issues, whilst executing the project in conjunction with another yard. Our team’s safety consciousness was also noted by the client.
