Project Brief

Client required modification of mooring arrangement to meet the new Panama Canal Modification in accordance with regulations N01-2014-Rev01.

Modification as a turn-key solution, including supply of suitable fittings, materials, consumables and skilled, qualified coded welders’ team to carry out the work as per class approved drawings at OPL Singapore safely and in short time. Class surveyor was only available to attend at inner anchorage, so work had to be completed flawless as no hot work allowed at inner anchorage.

Risk assessment and JSA was carried out to identify all hazards prior to commencing with proper safety planning and additional measures to ensure safe operations.

CTS provided a dedicated certified skilled steel team to work round the clock with aim to complete job in record time without any down time.

Scope of Work

  • CTS teams used Class approved engineering drawings.
  • All steel materials, underdeck fitting and Panama chocks foundation was pre-fabricated in our workshop.
  • Mooring fittings supplied.
  • Risk assessment, JSA and daily toolbox meetings were conducted with a proper safety plan in place.
  • Complete staging erected in the required areas.
  • CTS team of skilled certified fitter/welders did the installation as per approved drawings.
  • All documents and certificates provided to class.
  • NDT inspection was carried out using UT/MPI and witnessed by class.

Work was completed satisfactorily to attending class surveyor satisfaction.

Work on all 3 vessels was completed safely and in time to the satisfaction of the client and attending Class surveyor without any downtime.
