Overview
Our Client called upon CTS to analyze and provide a solution for the HVAC issues faced on-board their jack-up rig. CTS provided expertise with certified personnel to give customised EPC solutions within Clients’ time frame.
The three main affected areas were:
• Transformer room: in peak summer in Arabian Gulf, the transformer room temperature was reaching higher than the stipulated operating conditions.
• Galley System: in peak summer, with outside temperature reaches 48C, the temperature inside the galley was affecting working conditions.
• PLC Room : Cooling was found insufficient upon inspection condenser was found with several damages to the condenser fins and areas rusted obstructing the optimum heat exchange
Scope of Works
• CTS provided new sea water cooled packaged AC unit and a new duct was connected to the transformer room. The transformer room temperature was brought down by 10 C.
• Condenser units were replaced in order to achieve sufficient cooling for the PLC. CTS provided CARRIER certified personnel and equipment to troubleshoot and conduct adjustments of parameters to achieve desired results.
