Overview
Contracted by Leading Oil Major for Company’s 216,000m3 LNG Vessel, we deployed a team of IRATA certified technicians to conduct cosmetic maintenance and repairs on aloft areas, accommodation and engine casing bulkheads.
CTS completed works without disruption to the vessel, meaning no downtime and no lost earning days. Vital for ships that adhere to strict schedules. All rope access gear, PPE and all blasting and painting equipment was supplied by CTS.
Scope of Works
High pressure (1000 bar) water blasting of affected areas, removal of flakes and other contaminants and de-rusting.
Carry out power tooling in affected areas for spot descaling and remove the cracking and flaking paint back to the primer. Feather the edges of the intact paint and then abrade the remaining areas.
Low pressure freshwater wash in delicate areas.
Spot paint touch up two tooling regions and one stripe coat. Stripe coat primer on descaled areas. Apply topcoats.

Result
We thoroughly blasted and coated an area totalling over 2500m2, more than initially estimated, however, undeterred by this we set about delivering the solution to the client within the given timeframe to not impede normal operations.
From start to finish the project was completed to high industry standards and so in keeping with our first-rate quality work.
With full support from the technical superintendent and vessel crew, we were able to complete the job in time, safely and with prolific result.
Client Feedback
The clients were pleased with the result and have awarded CTS with a contract for their on-going fabric maintenance needs for their vessels operating in the Singapore/UAE region.
“The quality of work was excellent and conducted to schedule.
Furthermore, we would not hesitate in recommending Blasting and Coating services from CTS to others.”
