Started in 2014, the BorWin gamma topside was constructed in DryDocks World, Dubai. The massive platform was heavy lifted to the North Sea some 130km from the German shore between early September and October 2018.

BorWin gamma topside being transported via heavy lift vessel

Especially selected by Petrofac for our detailed and well evidenced proposal, we are proud to share that our experienced teams  carried out the structural works that hooked-up the topside to the jacket. Between being selected for the project and boarding the HVDC we dedicated many offshore manhours on preparation to ensure that our end-to-end solution ran smoothly; without question, featuring the latest in health and safety practices and procedures.

While being constructed, the BorWin gamma topside took up around half of the area available at DryDocks World and the manpower working on the project used bicycles to get around, the enormous structure commanded around 5km2 worth of space and a 1,500-person workforce. The 40m deep jacket was already ready and waiting for the topside to arrive via the heavy lift vessel Xiang He Kou.
